Sky Camp- Correction of Date!!!

Posted on Apr 21 2014 - 5:25pm

Hello Scouts and Scouters,

Due to a lack of available camp sites the Sky Camp trip had to be moved ahead by 1 weekend. So, this means it will be starting Saturday May 17 with one overnight camp return on Sunday May 18th. There are only 2 camp sites that hold 6 people each. Please check you calendar and edit the sign up list as necessary! Sorry for the confusion-hope it still works out for those who want to participate!

Cooking Merit Badge and Pack 62 Scout Fun Day 9am Saturday 4/19

Posted on Apr 18 2014 - 12:17am

Hello Troop 317

This Saturday Pack 62 has asked us for a favor.  They needed a place to do an event for their own Cub Scout pack.  They are doing the scouts Choice award.  For those of you who remember that is something I started for them as Cubmaster.  They are going to have the Cub Scouts play with Games-2-you.  With that said our boys from the troop need to work on their cooking craft.  The cooking merit badge is now Eagle required.  I invite any scout that has not earned this Merit badge to join me at KVCS on Saturday.  We will be working on this merit badge while the cub scout do their own thing.  This also can translate into possible recruits as they will see a troop at work and possibly sample the food.  I will have some supplies for the youth to prepare and cook and if any adults want to do some cooking with Dutch ovens feel free to bring your supplies and/or Dutch oven to help out.  If you have any questions feel free to call me or we can talk at the bowling night.  Attached to this e-mail is the work book for the cooking Merit badge.  Please send your scout with a copy of it.
